Photography, collage and cut-outs are part of Pariwat A-nantachina’s stunning work, a young Thai artist who creates marvelous cityscape full of imagination and charm. His eye-catching pieces of art will be displayed from March 8 to April 12, 2011 (closed on Monday) at Alliance Francaise’s media library. Admission is free of charge.

Born in 1981, Pariwat has his bachelor’s degree from Bangkok University’s School of Fine and Applied Arts and he currently runs his own design studio, Case INC. In 2008, he created collages by using many snaps of Bangkok, cut and laid out so as to create huge panoramas. When you first look at them, they seem to display an overview of the Thai capital. But as one comes closer, the city’s countless features – monuments, building, vehicles, shapes and outlines – become apparent in an array of details.

In 2009, he was contacted by the art gallery Art’psodie of Marseille in the south of France, and was asked to create similar artworks but this time on Marseille.
