Ekaterinburg State Symphony Orchestra has a balanced and beautiful sound, and will perform this challenging programme under the baton of Granovsky from the Bolshoi Theatre. When Borodin composed his Symphony No. 2 Part 2 is Beethoven’s final complete symphony, Symphony No. 9. It was the first major one to use vocals – the choral finale, with words from the poem Ode to Joy, is likened to a symphony within a symphony -and is undoubtedly one of the greatest orchestral masterpieces.
