The Department of Intellectual Property (DIP) will organise the IP Fair 2011.

According to DIP Director-General Pajchima Thanasanti, the IP Fair 2011 will be arranged at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre from 2 to 4 September 2011 under the theme ‘Extending Wisdom, Creating Thai Innovation to the World’.

The fair will feature displays of intellectual property owned by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, including royal patents, copyrights, trademarks and other new patents that the DIP presented to HM the King.

The event will also provide a forum for inventors and intellectual property right owners to meet with industrial entrepreneurs and exporters in order to discuss ways to further develop the existing intellectual property products for commercial purposes.

The DIP aims to cut the piracy rates on music and films to 60% from the present rate of 71%. The DIP will also try to make areas with high sales of pirated products or red zones to become piracy-free areas or white zones, and the first target in this drive will be the famous Pantip IT Mall in Pratu Nam area.
