In his new role as Secretary General to the Collective Action Coalition of the Thai Private Sector Against Corruption, Dr Bandid (former Deputy Governor of the Bank of Thailand) will be discussing ways the Coalition is working towards a corruption-free business environment in Thailand. This body aims to commit companies operating in Thailand by having them sign up, train in anti-corruption policies and compliance at a company level, then spread the word to other companies.

About the speaker:

Chairman to the Thai Bond Market Association and Secretary General to the Collective Action Coalition of the Thai Private Sector Against Corruption.

Dr. Bandid Nijathaworn is presently Chairman of the Thai Bond Market Association, president and CEO of the Thai Institute of Directors and member of the Council of Trustees and the Board of Directors of Thailand Development Research Institute.

Dr. Bandid was formerly a Deputy Governor at the Bank of Thailand where he held the position of Deputy Governor for Monetary Stability from January 2004 to October 2010, and spent a brief period between 2006 – 2009 as Deputy Governor in charge of financial stability, financial policy and banking supervision.

Prior to joining the Bank of Thailand in 1992, he was an economist at the International Monetary Fund where he joined as a young professional in the IMF’ s Economist Program. Earlier in his career, he taught as an Assistant-Professor in economics at Thammasat University, Bangkok.

Dr. Bandid graduated with a B.A. (Hons.) in Mathematical Economics from the University of Essex, Colchester, England, and holds a PhD in economics from La Trobe University Melbourne, Australia. In 2011, he attended the Advanced Management Program at Harvard University, Boston, USA.

Invoice: BCCT will add a 10% surcharge to any invoices that BCCT is required to raise after an event. Event attendees should either pay in advance or on the door.

No- show policy: There are many events (eg luncheons and breakfast briefings) that require BCCT to give guaranteed numbers of attendees to the venue. If those who have booked fail to attend, the venue invariably still charges the BCCT. As a result, BCCT’s policy in these situations is to invoice no-shows (unless there are exceptional circumstances).
