Thailand is regarded as a model country when it comes to the support of renewable energy and as a central business location. Due to the extensive contribution of agriculture and the processing industry for agriculture products to the overall economic output of Thailand, the potential for energy production from biomass and biogas is huge. With that fact in mind, the Royal Thai Government has formulated an energy supply plan in which renewable energy will account for a 25 per cent share, in order to limit dependency on foreign energy sources. Thus, Thailand’s abundance of raw material and the support of the Government provide an opportunity to avoid the rapidly growing global competition for fossil energy.

German companies are ready to side with Thailand in this project and to become reliable friends and partners. They strongly favor co-operating with Thailand and would appreciate the chance to provide the domestic market with highly-efficient technology and quality services for energy production based on biomass and biogas.

The Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology has launched the “renewable – Made in Germany” initiative to support the efforts by German companies to initiate business relations in potential markets, and to facilitate the initial business contacts. The upcoming Biomass/Biogas Conference on 12 June 2012 will take place under the sponsorship of this campaign.

The German-Thai Chamber of Commerce, in co-operation with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, cordially invites you to join us at this conference, and to participate in the discussion with experts and entrepreneurs in the biogas and biomass sector. The programmed includes informative presentations on the development of “state-of-the-art” renewable energy technology as well as company presentations by German technology and service suppliers for the biogas and biomass sector.
