The Golden Mount (Wat Saket) fair is the many Buddhists head to the Golden Mount for worship and religious ceremonies. This event also features a range of entertainment and fairground rides,most popular of all Thailand’s temple fairs, during which the Wat is draped in red cloth and illuminated with colored lights.
For 9 days a carnival mood prevails, complete with traditional theatrical performances, animal shows, booths selling food and bric-a-brac, fun rides and so forth. On this occasion, devotees stream in, pay tribute to the Buddhist relics and form a candlelight procession to the top of the spire.
